Other Collectibles Sample Pictures
This item may not be valuable to anybody else, but it's worth a lot to me. In my lifetime
I've only been to three major league baseball games. The first was this one in 1959 (acutally
this was a doubleheader, so make that four games). My
father and I traveled to DC to see the Senators play the Indians. These were the original
Senators. They featured young slugging stars Harmon Killebrew and Bob Allison as well as
veteran slugging first baseman Roy Sievers. Their top pitcher was Camilo Pascual who that
year won 17 games for a team that won only 63 games total. The Senators had been pathetic
losers for quite a few years and would soon pack up to move to Minnesota to become the Twins.
Their opponents this day were the Cleveland Indians. Their star was outfielder Rocky Colavito who
hit 42 homers in 1959. They won 89 games to finish second in the AL. The Indians won the first
game of the doubleheader 7-3, then Washington took the nightcap 9-0.
The games were played in Griffith Stadium which was torn down in 1965.
My wife got this Sam Huff autographed mini football at a business show she attended. The auto is
slightly faded and it looks like "Slaw Huff", but I still like it.
I got this Sonny Jurgensen auto at the CSA show in Richmond in June 2005. I've got Sonny's auto
twice. He was not very friendly either time.
Another piece of memorabilia with meaning only for me - my t-shirt and race number from my first 5K
race in May 1989. I ran several dozen races after this one, but I haven't run any for a couple of years.
I suspect my racing career is over.
