Our cat Tweety

Tweety, like Feisty (previous page) was my Mother-in-law's cat. When she had to leave her apartment for assisted living, we adopted them in July 2018. Tweety was also a rescue, but we think she was born sometime in 2007. She was called "Sweetie" by my Mother-in-law, which I thought was a poor name for a cat, so I called her "Tweetie" so that it basically sounded like Sweetie. For a while we didn't realize that Tweetie was basically deaf, so it didn't much matter what we called her! She had internal breathing problems and probably a "mass" in her throat. Whether it was these health issues or because she was deaf, she did not "meow". She purred loudly and made grunting noises but never meowed.

She never completely lost her feral background. When we would visit my Mother-in-law, Tweety would sneak away to hide under the bed. But surprisingly, when she came to live with us, she very quickly bonded with me and became my close friend. On October 16, 2020, she apparently had a stroke or some other brain damage, and we had to let her go. Even though we had her for only about 26 months, I had become (I think) as close to her as I had to most of our other cats.

Here are some pictures.
