Milwaukee Braves Sample Pictures
I put together a mini-collection to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Milwaukee's
1957 World Series victory over the Yankees. It includes all the available '57 Topps
cards of players on the team, a WS program, team picture, a couple of autographed
photos, various other pictures, and stats and game summaries.
Some details from the display:
Lew Burdette was the series MVP, pitching three complete games, including two
shutouts.
A photo of a number of players waiting to board an airplane. It is autographed by Ernie Johnson
(future Braves announcer), Del Crandall, Johnny Logan, Red Schoendienst, Eddie Mathews, Warren
Spahn and Frank Torre (Joes older brother). Others in the picture include (front row l-r) Joe
Adcock and Wes Covington and (back row l-r) Henry Aaron, Fred Haney (I think), and unknown.
